Closures

🥶 Due to an Extreme Cold Warning from the National Weather Service, all Rockford Park District facilities will be closed on Friday, January 23, 2026. The Rockford Park District prioritizes the safety of citizens, guests, and team members and considers many factors when deciding to cancel programs or close facilities.

🥶 To ensure the safety of our patrons and staff, Snow Park at Alpine Hills will delay opening Saturday, January 24, 2026, to 12:00 pm, due to extreme cold.

🚧 The Jefferson St. Pedestrian Bridge is currently closed while the City of Rockford conducts erosion control and restoration work along the west side of the Rock River, between River Dr. and Park Ave. The City anticipates reopening the bridge in January 2026. Please direct any project-related questions to the City of Rockford.
